Use any modern (smartphone) camera to film your product. Focus on the product and record a video while slowly circling around it, keeping it within the frame.

No special equipment is required, though a professional setup can yield even better results. For Pro subscribers, we recommend filming in 4K; otherwise, HD works well for most products.

The engine will automatically remove the background, but for best results, use a background that contrasts with your subject.

  • Keep the product in focus and within the frame.
  • Use autofocus apps for small subjects if needed.
  • Spin around the subject slowly (30 seconds to 1 minute works well).
  • Use a background color that contrasts with your product.
  • Use soft lighting to diffuse harsh shadows.

Don't have a turntable? No problem! For more detailed settings, see our recommended photography settings.

Absolutely! Professional photographers can capture 4K spin videos of your product, which you can upload to the platform. We support handheld capture, turntables, and backdrops.

For even better 3D results, record spin videos at multiple angles. Ideally, film a single video spinning around three times at different pitch angles. More spins improve results for complex objects and increase the up/down viewing range.

In the future, we plan to support direct photo uploads and a dedicated capture app. Typically, about 100 photos are needed for a full 360° view.

You don't need a turntable to use Optimal 360°. Use a small platform you can walk around and, ideally, a contrasting background.

The software will remove any background.

You can also capture as little as 90 degrees (or less) if you already have a suitable backdrop.

Want to use a professional setup? Learn about using backdrops or check our "in the wild" capture tips.

You can use a professional backdrop for captures. We will soon offer the option to use the original photos in the photo 360s.

The software will remove any shaking and keep the object centered for handheld captures.

You can also capture as little as 90 degrees (or less) to utilize your photography background/backdrop.

You can capture subjects in the wild (in a real-world uncontrolled setting) using handheld capture. Stay focused on your subject and walk slowly around it, keeping it in focus and in frame.

Future updates will further improve support for capturing in uncontrolled environments, such as public art or in museum settings.

You can also capture as little as 90 degrees (or less), and short video clips (as little as 15 seconds) can yield good results.
