How can I improve my turntable capture results?

A repeatable turntable setup matters more than an expensive studio. Keep the camera, lighting, product position, and rotation speed consistent from the first frame to the last.

A repeatable turntable setup matters more than an expensive studio. Keep the camera, lighting, product position, and rotation speed consistent from the first frame to the last.

  1. Mount the camera or phone securely and frame the whole product without cropping it during the turn.
  2. Use soft, diffuse light from fixed positions. Avoid flicker, moving shadows, and automatic exposure changes.
  3. Focus on the product and use a shutter speed that keeps each frame sharp. Slow the turntable if you see motion blur.
  4. Record at least one full rotation in about 30 seconds or longer. Keep the camera fixed while the product and CaptureDisc rotate together.
  5. Add elevated and lower passes for multi-row coverage when customers need to see the top or lower edges.

Test one representative product before standardizing the setup. Reflective, transparent, fuzzy, and nearly featureless surfaces may need lighting changes or a different presentation even when the capture is technically correct.

How It Works

Simply capture and upload a video circling your object to generate a highly realistic 3D model viewer - no studio, no special skills required.

1
